A Few Words About The Club

Kingston Camera Club has been in existence since 1893. We meet on Monday evenings between September and June, at St Andrews Church Hall (TW10 5HG) to enjoy talks, workshops, members presentations and competitions.

The Club has several Special Interest Groups where members concentrate on a particular genre of photography.

A major part of the club’s activities are the ten “monthly” competitions (5 for prints and 5 for projected digital images). These give members the opportunity to display their work at the club, receive constructive criticism from an outside expert, and accumulate points towards awards made at the end of the season.

Our three distinct classes (Standard, Intermediate and Advanced) ensure that members’ work is shown alongside that of others with similar experience. Guidance on which class to enter can be obtained from any of the club’s officers.

High scoring images from these competitions can be seen on the Galleries page.

The Club also enters several external competitions each year, including the Albany Cup, the Concorde Trophy, SPA Inter-Club competitions, and the Surrey Advertiser Rosebowl.

New members at all levels are always welcome, and are invited to visit us for a couple of meetings before deciding to join. Please send us a message via the Contact page if you would like to do this. Further information about the club can be found here.
