

Kingston Camera Club was founded in 1893. The original objective of the Club was to advance photography by all available means. That is still the objective today.
What has changed dramatically is the way that photographs are now captured and produced. The technologies that dominated photography during much of the 20th Century have been largely superseded with the advent of computers, digital cameras and modem printers. This digital revolution is continuing and will go on changing the face of photography for quite some time to come. The Club has risen to the challenge with a number of innovative developments.
The Club meets weekly during the period from September to June, as it has done for many years. As will be seen from our Programme, the meetings cover lectures, workshops, internal and external competitions and specific events to exploit the application of new technologies and new ideas. The Club is a member of the Surrey Photographic Alliance and takes part in competitions organised by the Alliance. The Club also organises an annual exhibition of Members' work. This Exhibition is held at the Kingston Art Gallery and is open to the public.
